The third post, seeing that the first one saw two phenomenal women, saw my older sister, Sindisiwe Dhlamini being honoured for the positive influence she has had on my life.
The first one in the family to ever obtain a university qualification and by doing so, opened the door to many, myself included.
Here is a re-cap of the post.
Day 3 of my Women’s Month Appreciation Series and today goes out to my beautiful older sister.
Many may assume that the title of the first University Graduate in the family belongs to me, but you hold that honour. And I thank you for that. You will never know how hearing the news of you graduating for your 1st degree motivated me. It not only changed my whole view of life but it moved me. Made me realize that if you could do it, then I could do it too.
You are my trail blazer. Thank you for setting the scene and allowing me (and everyone in the family) to follow as well.
And to date, you still do. Blazing the trail I mean. Hardship after hardship, you still are the strongest and most optimistic and positive spirited person I know.
Let me tell you why I think you are a superwoman:
Full-time job, full-time mother of two, No nanny, no helper at home but you still were able to get your Post-degree qualification and in record time! How on earth did you do that??? I barely battle to find time even though I do half of the things you do!
And it doesn’t end there.
You are currently doing your Masters Degree. I mean, it doesn’t get more unbelievable than that!
When you told me about your Masters project, I was completely blown away, at your bravery for the kind of topic you chose and how adamant you were that you are going to forge ahead with the study regardless of who would disagree with you because you are so passionate about the topic – a very controversial one.
And I support you fully on it and wish you nothing but the best on that inspirational journey you are undertaking!
In fact, in the words of Louis Vitton ‘It’s in the bag’
You are celebrated, honoured and loved!.
A very Happy Women’s Month to you Sindisiwe Dhlamini
