Radio women of sport took the spotlight on Day 5

As someone who has had the honour of working for a campus radio station (Voice of Wits) myself back in 2012, I know and value the amount of work that goes on at a radio station.

The passion, drive and fire from a number of young and talented individuals fighting to hone their various skills in the art easily lights up the station and these two caught my attention with ease.

Lovers of all things sport, I decided to honour them on Day 5 of my Women’s Month Appreciation series for their successes in the media sports industry as women who know and live sports.

Here is that post below.

Day 5 of my Women’s Month Appreciation series and today goes out to the ladies whose careers and lives revolve around the weekend.

Ladies who I was blessed to have worked and interacted with on a campus radio station that was infested with awesome and talented individuals whose careers in the medium are flourishing at the moment.

Ladies of sport. Ladies whose knowledge of the industry stems from a deep rooted passion. I always admire individuals with a good knowledge of both: current affairs and sport, and you two are living examples.

One is on Power FM 98.7 and the other, on SABC’s Radio 2000.

These are just stepping stones to careers that are headed no where but up. You two are hardworkers, and that is one thing for sure. The joy I get when I hear your voices on air is beyond excitement.

You two are proof that the future of women in sports looks very well-taken care of & I pray that you become rewarded and honoured with respect and incentives that are deservedly yours.

The long hours and nights you dedicated for #SportsHub are now paying off and I share, support and celebrate your strides and success in the field. Continue pushing and breaking down all those barriers and stereotypes!

I celebrate these two young powerhouses of sport!

A very happy women’s month to you!
