Neighbour and community champion – Dorah Maluleke took the spotlight on Day 7

Communities are places where souls reside, meet and connect. They are as better as the people who live in them. Communities are made by people not by buildings and infrastructure.

The people who fight for others, speak up against all forms of wrong doings and care enough to protect others. Safer communities are those with people that stick together.

I come from that Doornkop Extension 1 community.

The spotlight on my Women’s Month Appreciation series on day 7 went to a woman who is not only a neighbour of mine but a communith hero – Kokwani Dorah Maluleke.

Words simply fail me when I describe the kind of woman Kokwani Maluleke is, how strong she is physically and emotionally and how many obstacles her life has overpowered. But I attempted to, as I gave her the honour she deserves for all that she does, on the post below.

Day 7 of my Women’s Month Appreciation series and today we enter the second week and the list is slowly but surely getting filled but we soldier on.

How I am in love with this picture accompanying this post! A picture that paints a thousand words, emotions of joy and sheer happiness!

Today, I would like to take you to a community where I grew up, my wonderful neighbours and to a woman of many wonders.

I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say Mani Dora is an amazing woman. The community’s voice and the strong hold for the Pule family.

You have put the words power, strength and grace back into family relations, social and community matters.

A woman who is very hands-on, vocal and invloved and who is never shy to speak her mind always. A protector and a provider.

Thank you for raising up a home of girls only, my lovely sisters, the only way you know how and for being such a pillar of kindness and support to our community.

You really don’t get praised enough for all the work you do and it’s about time we start doing so. May God continue doing you well.

The only Gogo who I know, has a great sense of humour and is living testimony for God’s greatness. May He continue fuelling you with strength, good health and more years on this world, for us.

Our Mama Action. I know the love you have for my older brother is beyond this world but I love you just as much.

If I had to choose a councillor for our community, it would most doubt be you Kokwani.

I celebrate and honour you greatly.

A very happy women’s month to you!
