My mom’s sisters – Day 9

My mother comes from a family dominated by women, all her siblings are women. Her sisters, my aunts, have all played a pivotal role in raising me and in taking great care of the entire family, extended family included.

I think the turning point for them was at a point when they lost their father, my grandfather, which saw the end of an era for their last remaining parent.

That drew them more closer to eachother and in turn, made us as the next generation of the family learn a thing or two about family ties.

These women are my role models and celebrities that I get to see infront of me daily.

Commited to instilling principles of ubuntu, support and unity in the family, they have all experienced hardships and have conquered them together. Most importantly, they always have great fun together.

I set aside Day 9 of my women’s month appreciation series to put the spotlight on my aunts, Doris Methula, Maureen Shabangu and Christina Mzila.

Day 9 of my Women’s Month Appreciation series – Women’s Day Special and today, I pay special credit to my Queens. My mom and her sisters. My aunts. My mothers.

What a mission it was to get a picture where all four of these women are in one pic.

I thank these women for helping my mom to raise me and my siblings. The stories I hear all the time of this just move me. And for being the strong glue that ties the family together. For all that all of you do each day.

Comedians of note. For always prioritizing and instilling the element humour and having fun in our lives.

An all women family that is as strong and powerful as ever. I really value how these women are so supportive of each other and super committed to building family unity. It’s honestly a trait that I am hoping and working hard towards carrying forward. Learing so much from all of you.

Your pride in me is all I live for!

My love and heart capturers.

May God keep you for me and the coming generation.

A happy Women’s Day and Month to my Venda Queens and to all the women in the land.
